Cryotherapy
What is it?
Whole-body cryotherapy is a cold exposure therapy that exposes your body to freezing temperatures (between -100 and -110 deg) for a short period of time.
How does it work?
Upon entering an electric cryotherapy chamber, the immediate drop in temperature causes a notable reaction from your skin, leading to its contraction. Simultaneously, there's a narrowing of the blood vessels and a reduction in blood pressure. This triggers a protective response from the body, channeling surplus blood towards the core to safeguard vital organs.
Exiting the chamber sets off a reversal process where the body begins to reheat. This phase might bring about a temporary tingling sensation on the skin as it returns to its normal temperature. Concurrently, the blood vessels widen, facilitating the circulation of blood enriched with natural anti-inflammatory agents, cold shock proteins, and hormones throughout the body.
