Contrast Therapy

What is it?

Contrast therapy is based on the principle of heat and cold exposure and their physiological effects on the body, especially concerning blood circulation and the reduction of inflammation. In our serene spa setting this is accomplished by utilizing Infrared Sauna and Cold Plunge tubs.

How does it work?

  • Infrared Sauna causes the blood vessels to dilate (vasodilation), which increases blood flow to the area. This enhanced blood flow brings nutrients and oxygen to the affected area, which can help with healing. Heat also helps to relax muscles, reduce stiffness, and can alleviate pain.
  • Cold Plunge leads to vasoconstriction, the narrowing of blood vessels, which decreases blood flow to the area. This can help to reduce swelling and inflammation, and also numbs the area, decreasing pain.
