NAD+ Therapy
What Is NAD+?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a vital molecule found in all living cells. It plays a crucial role in energy metabolism and is essential for the conversion of food into energy. NAD+ also has important functions in regulating cellular aging and maintaining the health of cells.
Why NAD+ IV Therapy?
As we age, NAD+ levels naturally decline, which is linked to age-related health issues and decreased energy metabolism. Studies suggest that NAD+ levels can drop to half or even lower by the time an individual reaches middle age compared to their levels in youth. This decline is associated with various aging-related health issues, including decreased cellular metabolism, reduced energy levels, and impairments in the body's ability to repair DNA and respond to stress.
What are the Benefits of NAD+ Therapy?
- Enhanced Energy Metabolism: NAD+ plays a critical role in converting food into energy. Increasing NAD+ levels through IV therapy can help enhance mitochondrial function, potentially leading to improved energy levels.
- Support for Cellular Repair: NAD+ is essential for the proper functioning of sirtuins, a group of proteins involved in cellular health and repair. By boosting NAD+ levels, IV therapy can enhance the body's ability to repair damaged DNA and maintain cell health.
- Improved Cognitive Function: There is evidence that NAD+ can support brain health, possibly improving cognitive function, focus, and mental clarity. This is thought to be due to its role in cellular energy production and stress resistance.
- Anti-Aging Effects: As NAD+ is closely linked to aging processes, increasing its levels might slow some aspects of the aging process, potentially improving skin health, reducing inflammation, and supporting overall longevity.
- Enhanced Physical Performance: Athletes and physically active individuals might benefit from improved recovery times and reduced fatigue due to enhanced energy metabolism and cellular repair functions.
What Can You Expect During Your First Visit for NAD+ Therapy
During your initial NAD+ Therapy session at RENU, you will be welcomed by one of our skilled IV Infusion Nurses. They will assist you in filling out your medical history form and any necessary consent documents needed prior to your treatment. Following this, you'll have a brief telemedicine consultation with our Medical Director, conducted in the comfort and privacy of our IV Lounge. Once cleared by our medical team, we will order your NAD+ from our pharmacy and schedule your first NAD+ IV therapy appointment. This process ensures that every treatment adheres to the highest safety and health standards, as medical clearance is required before we can order your personalized NAD+ supply.
For NAD+ Therapy, the drip rate is significantly slower compared to a normal IV therapy. This is done to ensure that the NAD+ is properly absorbed. You can expect each session to last anywhere from 1.5 - 4 hours depending on the amount of NAD+ you are receiving.
Please feel free to bring a laptop/ipad and headphones with you or your favorite book!
